Sumter's seasonal Backcountry event showcases a slice of life when it came to living in South Carolina during the 1750's to 1850's on Dec. 11, 2021. All volunteers are dressed in authentic clothing and complete everyday tasks using 18th century tools. The cabins resemble that which would have been built by homesteaders at the time.
